While the story behind these fire photos are not as satisfying as the ones from Walker Ranch Colorado, it was a good shoot. These are from two of the days they were having controlled burns at Hitchcock Nature Center in Iowa. The gentle wind gave the smoke a particular fantastic shape which in turn gave the fading light an excellent color. Fires are always dream to shoot.
